Description

April is Earth Month and we are celebrating through stewardship! Join the Park District, BI Parks & Trails Foundation, and BI Land Trust at Manzanita Park to restore habitat and trail features along the Manzanita Watershed. Projects could include spreading chips on trails, surfacing, improving drainage, or pruning back the spring flush.

Why Manzanita Watershed? The Manzanita Watershed is our priority restoration area as it supports the local and greater Puget Sound ecosystem by providing critical habitat for wildlife and a healthy groundwater supply for all. Protecting and caring for this watershed, connected through Manzanita Ridge Preserve and Manzanita Park, ensures a healthy environment for conservationists and recreationists alike!

These work parties are well suited for children ages eight and up who are comfortable using some tools and walking a mile or so throughout the two-hour work party.
