Be a part of the global City Nature Challenge* event in Manzanita Park. Alongside BI Land Trust, we will engage in a local "bioblitz" or citizen science monitoring event using iNaturalist in areas along the Manzanita Watershed. This is one of several bioblitz events in Kitsap County between April 24-27 to observe and record natural organisms to help better understand the biodiversity of our area.
Why Manzanita Watershed? The Manzanita Watershed is our priority restoration area as it supports the local and greater Puget Sound ecosystem by providing critical habitat for wildlife and a healthy groundwater supply for all. Protecting and caring for this watershed, connected through Manzanita Ridge Preserve and Manzanita Park, ensures a healthy environment for conservationists and recreationists alike!
Would you like to participate, but want further training in how to use iNaturalist? Join us and Great Peninsula Conservancy on March 23rd, 5:00pm-6:00pm in Silverdale. Register here: https://volunteer.bloomerang.co/volunteer/#/join-party?k=w5gerd2r56b17b
